Heather Bambrick Trio and Chef Harmeet Singh Present Hot and Spicy Evening at Ambiyan Restuarnt

When it comes to hot jazz and spicy food, Heather BambrickTrio’s return performance at the Markham Jazzlicious WinterFest is a not to be missed event in this ever-popular series. WholeNote Magazine calls the Juno nominated vocalist and JazzFM morning show host, “one of the finest jazz singers in this country” and jazz icon Guido Basso proclaims her as “the real deal” and his favourite singer. Her sold-out performances at the 2023 Markham Jazzlicious WinterFest made her an in-demand performer for series’ second annual event. Hosted by award winning Chef Harmeet Singh, Heather Bambrick’s performance takes place from February 27 through March 2, 2024, at Ambiyan Restaurant a gem in the heart of historic Unionville.

Ambiyan, which means fresh, green mangoes, is a popular culinary destination known for bringing a cultural richness to Markham’s Main Street dining scene. With an emphasis on free, organic and locally sourced produce and meats, Ambiyan is highly regarded for their fresh take on authentic Indian contemporary cuisine. Ambiyan’s Executive Chef Harmeet Singh’s culinary journey is a testament to passion and expertise. Born in Jammu and Kashmir India, and raised with a love for flavors, Chef Harmeet discovered a calling for cooking early on. Formal training at Culinary Academy of India (Asia’s Number one culinary college) honed skills that would later define a remarkable career that includes learning from renowned chefs in Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa. His unique culinary philosophy blends traditional techniques with avant-garde creativity. With a focus on presenting a variety of options, Chef Singh has prepared a Jazzlicious menu that offers a vast selection that includes traditional dishes such as butter chicken and fish tikka alongside contemporary offerings such as masala lamb chops served with mint, tomato and sweet onion and honey glazed tempura prawns.

“We are very excited to be bringing back this highly anticipated musical and culinary experience. Eating out is one of the main ways we treat ourselves, but diners also want these social occasions to last longer and be about more than just the cuisine. The addition of an intimate performance by some of this country’s celebrated jazz artists paired with the culinary arts of Markham’s best Chefs is the perfect ingredient to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences for these consumers.”
