Whirlpool Golf Course

Nestled within the breathtaking landscape of Niagara Falls and designed by legendary Canadian golf architect Stanley Thompson, Whirlpool Golf Course remains a top golf destination for golfers of all skill levels and abilities. The historic course boasts challenging terrain, lush fairways, and stunning views of the Niagara River Gorge. Renowned for its beauty and strategic layout, the classic parkland course is a must-visit destination for golf enthusiasts from all over the world. Course Renovations

In collaboration with Niagara Parks’ Environmental Sustainability team, Niagara Parks’ Golf team will be undertaking a phased renovation plan at Whirlpool Golf Course to bring the course closer to the original design intent by Stanley Thompson, which aimed to provide enjoyable yet challenging play for all skill levels.

Guided by consultations with Andrew Golf Design who specializes in the restoration of Stanley Thompson courses, this work will also contribute to protecting the long-term sustainability of the course, mitigating the risk of winter injury, and ensuring the team’s ability to maintain the highest standards across its golf operations.

The first phase of the project will target hole 18, including the removal of selected bunkers and 4-8 trees, as well as planting 65 new trees to direct golfers to the right side of the hole and reduce the risk of golf balls going onto the Parkway. A key priority will be minimizing any potential impact on golfers so that the course remains open and available all season long.

New Whirlpool Bar + Lounge

Niagara Parks will officially reopen its restaurant at Whirlpool Golf Course this summer. The newly renovated Whirlpool Bar + Lounge will feature a fresh look, offering a more laid back, sports bar atmosphere – the perfect spot for golfers to grab a bite to eat and a pint of local Niagara craft beer after their round. The Whirlpool Bar + Lounge will reopen Friday, May 17.

Legends on Niagara Golf Complex

Legends on the Niagara, Canada’s premier public golf destination, boasts two championship courses, a nine-hole executive course, 360° driving range on 45 acres, clubhouse facilities and the TaylorMade Niagara Performance Centre and Golf Academy.

Battlefield Golf Course, located on the north side of the Legends on the Niagara property, offers a mix of wide, links-style holes with fairways that sweep across lush greens, dense forest, and brush. Players looking for a classic parkland course will find what they’re looking for at Ussher’s Creek on the south side. This challenging and breathtaking course features thick stands of deciduous trees, wetland hazards, knee-high fescue rough, and impeccable conditioning from tee to green.

The Chippawa Executive Course is the perfect complement to the larger Battlefield and Ussher’s Creek courses. Each hole brings a different challenge for golfers of all skill levels.

Beginning April 19, all three courses at Legends will be open daily. For more information including how to book tee times, visit niagaraparks.com/golf.
