Full details and tickets available at

Niagara Parks will host a new three-part virtual speaker series, delivered as a live-streamed, virtual event. Each of the interactive online sessions feature a different topic and reveal fascinating stories from Canadian history that you likely haven’t come across before.

The virtual series features an exceptional line-up of speakers, starting on April 20th with global adventurer and bestselling author Adam Shoalts. Adam is an explorer-in-residence with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society whose journey has taken him from the jungles of the Amazon to the tundra of the High Arctic. Following Adam, is Niagara Region historian Jesse Abbott and Supervisor of Historical Services at the City of St Catharines, Kathleen Powell to conclude the series. Topics include everything from ghostly tales to forgotten historical events and iconic publications from the War of 1812.

Join three renowned speakers as they reflect on their time at Old Fort Erie and share how their time at the Fort ultimately impacted their experiences, studies, papers, dissertations and doctorates.

  • April 20: Dr. Adam Shoalts, The Whisper on the Night Wind, Investigating the Mystery of Traverspine
  • May 11: Jesse Abbott, Soldiers on the Niagara Frontier
  • June 8: Kathleen Powell, Exploring Mrs. Beeton’s Book of Household Management

Additional event details and tickets are available at Tickets are $15 per event, with access to all three events available for $35. All sessions will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be hosted on Zoom.
